Feel good as you travel on a plane, train, automobile or deal with your boss
Hey Traveler,
‘Tis the season to travel more and work harder. You know the drill. Do your regular job, shop ’til you drop, prepare food for your regular life and for the parties. And that’s not all — go to the parties, wrap presents and send out greetings.
On top of all that pack your bags, travel to see family and haul all the presents with you. In addition, eat lots of food, visit with people and haul your booty back. All with a smile on your face pretending that everything is fiiiiiinnnne in your life.
Because of the busyness you don’t take care of you. Your movement practice goes by the wayside and you begin to feel heavy and dull.
Well, no more
This week’s Ageless Movement Practice is all about taking your practice with you as you travel and work. No more I’m too busy excuses.
A desperate phone call
The other day, I received a phone call from one of my students, Sandy. She’s diligent with her practices and knows herself well. So when she calls, I know it’s important.
As a side note, she’s come a looooong way in improving her health and happiness since I met her seven years ago. She was shut down from her feelings and intuition and everything was about other people. All those years ago, I couldn’t figure out who Sandy was.
Today Sandy’s connected to herself and fully alive. She’s a gifted intuitive and because of her awareness — I got the phone call!
“Michelle, you know I travel for a living, I have to get up at 1:00 A.M. at times to catch a flight. When that happens it’s really hard for me to do my movement practices. They are so important to me I want to stay feeling this healthy and happy. I want to keep my intuition flowing. Could you please put together a practice for those times I can’t do the regular Ageless Movement Practices?” Sandy asked. Oh yay, I thought.
Other requests
As it happens, when I’m supposed to do something, the Universe tells me not once but many times. A good friend told me he’s about to take a long trip and wondered how to take the practices with him while he travels. An Ageless student messaged me requesting a practice to do at work to release the stress of her job from that many others responded wanting the same thing.

An Ageless Body Note from your travel weary, stressed out body.
Dear One,
I love that you take me on adventures. Most of your well thought out journeys make my heart soar and allow me to feel expansive!
However, I’d like to talk to you about some ways I feel neglected. These are things I’ve been trying to talk to you about for a while. Your back ache, shoulder tension and neck pain is my way of trying to get you to pay attention!
Think of me
What am I saying?? When you travel I need to be considered. Don’t pack your bag so heavy and expect me to lift it even though you’ve not been lifting near that much weight on a daily basis. Lighten the load and add some arm and shoulder strengtheners to your daily movement practice.
Help me with challenging seats and unfamiliar beds by opening and engaging your core on a daily basis. Then I won’t have to give you back pain to get you to stop and listen.
Your aching neck is saying listen to me!!! You’ve thrown me out of alignment with your funky posture. Learn to sit, stand and walk correctly so your head and neck balance freely on the top of your spine.
A tennis ball
Most importantly, take a tennis ball with you wherever you go. In your car, on the train and the airplane. Put it in your lower back, up in your shoulders and under your butt cheeks. Roll around on the tennis ball and you’ll feel like you’ve had a massage once you get where you are going.
Prepare me for your adventures and I’ll respond by feeling great wherever the journey takes us!
