The long sought after treasure map to your body is located — drum roll please…
On the soles of your feet
Yes, you’ve been walking on this map that can be an aid to your health, healing and happiness.
It’s called a foot reflexology chart and shows the location of your reflex points.
What are reflex points?
Well, they are your reflexes… places that react when touched or stimulated. These reflexes are connected to your organs and spine.
“Reflexology works with the central nervous system through nerve endings of the peripheral nerve,” says Naveen Sharma, a naturopathic counselor at YO1. “By applying pressure on peripheral nerve endings, we stimulate the nerve center related to specific organs in the body. The foot, generally, is divided into different zones and specific parts of it represent different organs in your body.”
By applying pressure at these points you can help heal ailments of the body. Learn to read this chart that shows you which reflex points on your feet correspond to specific areas of your body to get started on this healing journey.
Here are the basics of the foot reflexology chart:
- The toes and feet represent your head and neck
- The insides of your feet correlate to your spine
- The ball of your foot corresponds to your chest
- The center of your foot represents your waistline with the stomach above the waistline and the intestines below
- The heel represents your pelvis.
- The right foot is associated with the right side of your body
- The left foot is associated with the left side of your body
There are many differences on the right vs the left sole of the foot. For example, the heart is primarily located on the left side of the body so massaging and applying pressure to the left foot can treat heart challenges.
So, get out a golf ball, roll it on the bottoms of your feet, notice where the pain is, check out what part of the body that point relates to and consider what might be happening in that organ or part of your spine.
Commit to rolling the ball on that pain point daily and notice how happy your feet and your whole body feels.
