I am beginning to learn that it is the sweet, simple things of life which are the real ones after all. ~ Laura Ingalls Wilder
One of the ways I balance out the hate and decisiveness of this time is by listing some of the sweet things in my life. I highly recommend you create a Sweet List of your own. It will bring you out of chaos and into peace.
To list your sweet things sit down and ask yourself, “What sweet things are in my life right now?” The answers will come pouring in. It may be the cup of tea your drinking, the book you’ve been reading or the smile from a stranger. Whatever comes up — put it on your list.
I do a weekly review of the pictures I took that week before and honor the sweet things I see. I’m giving you my Sweet Things weekly list with photos to inspire you!
My Dog Lola
She’s always wags her tail when I look at her. Oh, and the sweet kisses and snuggles there is nothing better in life!
Delicious and beautiful meals prepared for me by my favorite chef, Ricardo
I am forever grateful to live with an amazing chef. This was the breakfast he made for me a couple of days ago. I feel as if I live in a 5-star restaurant.
Swimming with turtles
The sea life that flourishes out on the reef in front of my house always amazes me. I feel nourished by the sea and its creatures — even the 5′ shark that swam underneath me.
Beautiful friends
I feel immense gratitude for the love and support I receive from my beautiful neighbor friends.
Breathtaking sunsets
The sweet sunsets mother nature provides every single night — make my heart smile. I am in awe and bow in humility.
Full moon rising over Mauna Kea
On top of the awesome sunsets — the moon. This week she rose over Mauna Kea so full she reminded me of the abundance in my life.
Seeing family, friends and students on Facetime or Zoom
I’m so grateful to live in a time of Zoom and Facetime so I can look into the eyes of my loved ones and students who live far away. I love that my daughter and I Facetime every day!
Rainbows
The rainbows that unexpectedly appear and make me smile from ear to ear.
Doing my movement practices with all my beautiful students — join us!
I can’t believe the good fortune I have to do what I love and pass it on to people that appreciate my gift!
I am forever grateful for the unconditional love I receive from my sweet dog Lola, the delicious food prepared by my super sweet partner, Ricardo, the serenity I find from swimming in the ocean, the support of so many friends and family, the beauty of the island I live on and the camaraderie I find from the incredible students who move with me!
These things are more real to me than the chaos I watch from afar!
