The power of love during my last trip to Minnesota and Texas was vast and enduring.
You’re not going to believe what happened to me.
Family love
Visiting my family in Minnesota is usually an interesting adventure. I often walk away feeling less than loved.
My visit in October of this year was all about love. I felt so much love for my brothers, my dad, my nieces and nephews.
They hadn’t changed. The same issues of too much drinking and squabbles between my siblings were all still there.
But I could only feel the love. I enjoyed every moment with my family. I didn’t even want to leave when it was time to go. What happened to me?
On to Texas
Traveling to teach and lead a workshop in Dallas, Texas I was visualizing the difficulties I’d encounter.
From the moment I landed at DFW Airport everyone, and I mean everyone, gave me messages of love.
My Uber driver into Dallas from the airport told me, love always wins.
My students and friends, who are like family to me, welcomed me with love. I felt so much love emanating from them, it was like being bathed in sunshine.
The young man at the Apple store claimed he moved here to fulfill his mission in life, to spread love to everyone he meets.
A dear student and friend whom I hadn’t seen in a couple years, drove many miles to see me because she loved me and missed me.
The driver of a moving van, stopped, rolled his window down and said to me, it’s a great day to be alive and feel the love.
My Uber driver back to the airport said he was a Christian but he understood that all spiritual paths lead to love.
A man rushed up to me at the airport because was I struggling with my suitcases. He helped me stack them so I could easily move them. As we parted ways he told me to pass on the love.
And the love kept flowing
The guy at the ticketing stand was being a bit standoffish, then he looked at my boarding pass. Looked me in the eye and said, “Kona, I love the Big Island. Are you going on vacation?”
I explained that I lived there. He said, “The Big Island is so awesome. Tell the Island that Ed sends his love!”
Tears of joy were streaming down my face as went through security and my bags were flagged. I stepped aside drying my tears. No bag search was going to take away my love/joy.
Rude to nice
I watched as a rude TSA agent handled several people and their luggage. She was tearing through belongings. Leaving items strewn about, even dropping some things.
Breathing in hope, it was my turn. The same rude TSA agent held my leather shoulder bag and asked, “Who’s bag?” I stepped forward.
She held my gaze for a moment and looked in my bag. Didn’t touch a thing and handed it to me. Behind the agent someone was picking up my suitcase, I said, “That’s mine too.”
The TSA agent who passed me my handbag told the other agent, “I got it.” She placed my suitcase on the stainless steel counter. Opened it and asked about a brown paper bag that rested on top of my belongings.
“Oh, that’s my dad’s way of sending me off with love. I was visiting him before Dallas. Dad slipped the brown bag. Filled with his amazing homemade sausage and smoked salmon into my suitcase. I’d like to share some with you if we weren’t, you know, here.”
She laughed, placed the brown bag back on top of my belongings and zipped my suitcase closed. The agent told me that she wished she could go on break to share. She smiled and told me to have a lovely trip. Yes, she really used the word lovely.
I’d watched her go from rude to lovely? What had happened?
Awe
Love is a mystery. Why had I received so much in Minnesota and Dallas? That’s mysterious. Was it me? Did all the stars line up?
Love is so strong, it’s beyond why or any other question.
The love flow, in rapid succession, happened to me. I’m holding my heart open and sharing with everyone I meet.
Be open to love as you move through each day and share it. No matter where you live or what your circumstances are. You live in the energy of love. You can connect with it and pass it on. It truly does come back to you.

It’s simple
If you ever forget: STOP! Roll your inner arms out with shoulders down and back. Keep your ribs snapped in and down. This is your new posture. Walk around like this and spread the love.
You’ll be rewarded with love circling back to you.
You’re going to love it!
I love you!!
