The saying, Everything I’ve ever let go of has claw marks on it — should read —
Everything I’ve ever let go of has been through the grip of my tight ass, a wrestling match with my arms, and has teeth marks on it.
Yes, we humans hang on to things first in our butt cheeks, we grip those suckers tight and when it escapes our cheeks, we contract our terres muscles — our arm swingers. Here we lose our own freedom as we attempt to keep this thing we believe must stay as it is. And finally it settles into our jaws. We clamp down tight trying to keep —– it! Whatever it may be!
I don’t know about you but I’m exhausted from trying to hang on right now.
It seems to me that COVID is all about letting go.
Letting go of —
- People who have died
- Health that has been invaded
- Friendships that turned
- Businesses that vanished
- Restaurants to enjoy
- Concerts to rock to
- Sports teams to cheer
- Government security
- Heck, security itself
- Hugs to give and receive
My list could go on and on
The only way I know to handle this time is to practice letting go. AND that is not an easy task.
When we want to hang on to something the first thing that happens is our brain tells our butt cheeks to grab. This is the energy of control and once we’ve gripped on in our butts it is hard to let go because the mind wants what it wants and tries to make it happen.
Once we’ve got a good grip going in our butt cheeks we take that tension up into our terres muscles right on the top outer edge of our shoulder blades. This tension causes us to lose the swing of our arms. As the arms begin to immobilize the message back to the brain is you’ve got to hang on tight to get what you want. This tightness in your terres will cause you to lose your freedom.
The last stop is the jaw. The clench of the jaw. This causes your voice to tighten and every word you speak through clenched teeth is strained and regulated.
The pain of holding on to your attachments can be intense. It is signaling you to let go. Let go or feel more pain. Let go or hurt your hips, your shoulders, and your teeth.
Time to get on a ball. Yes, the best remedy for a tight ass, terres muscle, and jaw is to take a ball into these spaces and roll on them as you open your mouth and say, haaaa. Visualizing all that you are hanging onto releasing out of your body.
Once you’ve let go a bit — you’ll feel lighter and freer.
I believe in this time more than ever — the answer to all your problems is to let go. Let it all go. Release all attachments.
Let go with this week’s Ageless Movement Practice. You’ll open the control centers of your body, your butt cheeks, your terres muscles — arm swingers, and your jaws. You will feel free and happy.
What are you attached to that you need to let go of? I’d love to hear from you in the comments section below.
