I cried as I wrote this
Visualize this, I first looked at Toni and her face was round on one side and square on the other. Two different faces on one person. Like a Picasso.
Stay with me, As I looked closer, I realized Toni’s right jaw was clenched. It made the right side of her face pull into a square. The left side of her face reflected her true face shape, round. Wild right??
Look at your face in a mirror
Go look at your face in the mirror. You might be surprised that you’ve got a little Picasso action going on.
What’s up with the tight jaws?
Toni became a client when I asked her why she clenched her right jaw. Her answer was the same as it is with all jaw clenchers …. Control. Toni was a dancer, a dance professor, and ran a dance company. Her entire adult life was about controlling people to create an outward expression.
It’s important to give you my definition of control:
control
verb/cont.trol/ken-‘trol\
- It’s wishing someone or something was different. You don’t actually have to take any actions to control. Just the thought that they/you should be different means control to your body.
When your right jaw is tight, it’s wishing the outer world was different. I must say there’s an epidemic of that right now.
When your left jaw is tight it’s wishing your inner world was different. Your feelings, your intuition, or your inner voice.
Release control
This weeks Ageless Movement Practice is the answer to release your jaw. Subscribe here. It’s the same practice I gave Toni. I’ll guide you to let go of control and release your tight jaw.
While you do your practice, consider who you control. If your right jaw is clenched you control other people. When your left jaw is clenched you control yourself.
So, as you do the practice, open your jaw wide, make sound, and let them or you out of your tight grip of control. You can even name them or say your own name. Visualize, they/you are flowing out of your mouth. Set them/you free.
I started crying
Thinking of Toni and her tight jaw made me cry. I worked with Toni for over twenty years. I saw her almost every week for a private session.
She’d released the grip of her jaw early on in our work together. Toni explored all areas of her energy body with me as her guide. In her last years even the transition into death.
We became so close and loved each other like good healthy family.
Toni began to lose her memory slowly at first but as she closed in on her eighty-ninth birthday. Her memory was gone. I stopped seeing Toni then. She couldn’t leave her house. And she no longer knew who I was. Toni died two years later at ninety-one years old.
I miss Toni so much, her courage to face every aspect of her life with curiosity. Her willingness to change. She held nothing back from me. I’m grateful to have known her.
I carry Toni with me as I live my life now. She’s my angelic life guide. I know she helps me and I’m so, so lucky that she loves me.
And I miss her round face.
Yup, her face went back to being round when she stopped controlling others.
Here’s your Ageless Body Note From Your Jaw, with help from my angel, Toni. I’m wiping my tears away now.
A Note From Your Jaw
Dear Perfect One,
This is a note from your jaw. Ouch, stop clenching me. I don’t like that at all. It hurts me. Please, let go right now, open your jaw wide and say let gooooooo.
When you think, say, and attempt to stop others from being who they are. When you step into the middle of their expression. You tighten your right jaw. You tighten enough and I will lock it down for you. I’m trying to get you to stop controlling. If you don’t listen I may even break some teeth or move your right jaw out of alignment. I don’t want to hurt you, I want you to stop and open up. Allow all to be free.
You stop yourself from feeling and knowing by gripping your left jaw. Do it enough and I’ll lock it down to get you to leave your beautiful self alone. If you don’t listen at lock down, I’ll break your teeth and move your left jaw out of place. Don’t go there. Open your left jaw, free yourself.
Let goooooooo!

I needed to stumble onto this beautiful story.
I sobbed through the entire life story of this beautiful soul, Tony…
She has left behind a gift for others to open… A gift of self love and hope for those of us who have suffered many hurts and blows in life so deeply that we began a journey of self pain.
I too suffer with TMJ, along with IBS C and Fibromyalgia.
As I write this comment, I can barely move my jaw.
I’m a young 60 ish wife, mom and grand mom,
Never felt worthy of any of those gifts.
I suffered terrible things in my life.
Some has made me stronger, some has not.
I pray for self peace.
I pray for hope to heal one day…
I want to then, help others…. Too… I want to be the better part of my story..
Bless you,
Lisa
